About iProng Magazine, the publication for iPod and iPhone users

iProng Magazine (formerly iPod Garage) is a four year old publication covering all aspects of the iPod, iTunes, iPhone, and associated content including music and podcasting. After nearly four years of publishing as a website, Publisher Bill Palmer announced on October 16th, 2007 that iProng would move to a monthly magazine format beginning December 2007. The iProng Magazine Editorial Staff (see masthead below) includes twenty-six writers spanning the globe, allowing iProng to cover industry events no matter where they happen. The first issue was released on December 3rd and can be viewed here. Included are a cover story interview with the band Silverchair, an interview with gold medalist Natalie Coughlin about how she uses her iPods to train for the Olympics, and dozens more iPod/iPhone-relevant articles, interviews, reviews, and profiles.

"iProng, you prong, we all prong together."
- John Taylor of Duran Duran

In 2007 iProng exhibited at Podcast Expo, covered Macworld Expo and Lollapalooza as credentialed press, attended Apple's September press event at Apple's invitations, and helped sponsor four PodCamps. In 2006 iProng exhibited at MacGathering and Podcast Expo, attended Digital Life in New York City and Electronic House Expo in Long Beach as credentialed press, attended the Steve Jobs Showtime Event per Apple's invitation, sponsored PodCamp Boston, was in New York City to cover the launch of the (PRODUCT)RED nano, formed an ongoing partnership with the LA Podcasters group, and worked with the Voodoo Music Experience in the name of bringing the event back to New Orleans.

"Popular"
- BusinessWeek Magazine

In early 2007 iProng Staff attended Macworld Expo in San Francisco where they reported on the launch of the iPhone, covered iPod accessories being exhibited by seventy-five companies, and also took the time to interview Bob Weir of the Grateful Dead and movie director Kevin Smith.

"What is an iProng anyway?"
- Rene Auberjonois of ABC's Boston Legal

iProng began its iPhone coverage on the day Apple unveiled the product in January 2007, even going so far as to get iPhone first impressions from Bob Weir of the Grateful Dead on the day it was unveiled. iProng's offices were inundated with iPhone accessories before the iPhone shipped, and iProng documented the iPhone's June 29th launch in and around Los Angeles. iProng was the first to publish hands-on reviews of iPhone accessories, and accordingly those reviews have been referenced all across the internet including Apple.com's own forums.

"Great reviews from serious critics."
- The Eagle Tribune Newspaper

The iProng Radio podcast is a free weekly audio show focused on the iPod and iPhone, featuring Bill Palmer and guest co-hosts Victor Cajiao of Typical Mac User, Adam Christianson of MacCast, Cali Lewis of GeekBrief.tv, Ken Ray of MacOSKen, and Tim Robertson of MyMac. Also making appearances on iProng Radio are Shelly Brisbin of Blogger and Podcaster Magazine, Dave Hamilton of iPodObserver, Jason Tucker of GeekFit, and guest appearances by too many famous musicians to list here.

"iProng, it's great broadcasting and you can use it to eat Chinese food."
- TV's Frank from Mystery Science Theater 3000

iProng Magazine remains committed to bringing the highest quality news coverage and content possible to its readers, and as the year draws to a close we look forward to a 2008 editorial schedule which includes on-site coverage from Macworld Expo, CES, New Media Expo, and PodCamps around the world, along with interviews with famous iPod and iPhone users, notable podcasters, and musicians ranging from those who've sold million of albums to the up-and-comers you should know about.
